Finding Your Perfect Legging Length: A Quick Inseam Guide

Getting the right length in leggings can make all the difference in comfort and style! Whether you prefer a full-length, 7/8, or capri style, knowing your inseam is key. The inseam is simply the length from your inner crotch to the bottom of your inner ankle (or wherever you want the leggings to end).

Why is it important?

Avoid Bunching: Leggings that are too long will bunch around your ankles.
Prevent Riding Up: Leggings that are too short can be uncomfortable and ride up.
Achieve Your Desired Look: Ensures the leggings hit exactly where you want them to, matching the intended style.

How to Measure Your Inseam:

It's best to have a friend help you for the most accurate measurement, but you can also do it yourself. You'll need a flexible measuring tape.

1. Stand Tall: Stand up straight with your feet about hip-width apart. If you have a pair of pants that fit you well in length (even if they aren't leggings), you can use those as a guide, but measuring on your body is often more accurate for leggings.

2. Position the Tape:

With a Helper: Have your friend place the start of the measuring tape (the "0" mark) at your inner crotch, as high up as is comfortable where the leggings would typically sit.

By Yourself: Carefully hold the start of the measuring tape at your inner crotch. You can also try laying a pair of well-fitting (non-stretchy) pants flat and measuring the inseam from the crotch seam to the hem.

3. Measure Down: Run the measuring tape straight down the inside of your leg.

4. Note the Length:

For full-length leggings, measure to the bottom of your inner ankle bone.

For 7/8 leggings, measure to a point slightly above your ankle bone (typically about 1-2 inches shorter than full length).

For capri leggings, measure to your desired point on your calf.

5. Read the Measurement: The number on the tape where it meets your desired end point is your inseam measurement. It's a good idea to measure both legs and use the average if there's a slight difference.

Quick Tips for Accuracy:

Wear underwear or thin, fitted shorts when measuring, not bulky clothing.

Keep the measuring tape snug but not too tight.

Ensure the tape is straight and not twisted.
